Roster Module
FHG and FHN Roster Management

Module Summary

Visual Practice makes FHG and FHN management a breeze!

The Roster Module enables the Patient Registration Module to add and remove patients from a physician based list patients participating in a Family Health Group and/or Family Health Network.  An unlimited number of patients can be associated with the billing physician's FHG or FHN.  Multiple lists can be maintained concurrently within the same system. Import your Ministry of Health Virtual Roster Report - This Visual Practice-only feature enables you to read and import the text file version of the FHG Virtual Roster Report that the Ministry of Health sends to you annually.  This process automatically marks the patients in your database as FHG-V patients, making identification of FHG-V patients fast and easy!

Export your Patient files in FHG Fulfillment House format! - This Visual Practice-only feature enables you to export your patient database into the file format that the FHG Fulfillment House requires in order to generate your patient FHG mailings.  This report is very flexible, enabling you to preview the list before its formatted, or restrict the list to patients of a particular doctor.  It can also exclude patients with incomplete addresses or limit the patient list to patients only seen in the last 24 months.

FHG/FHN Smart-Tags - Visual Practice shows you what patients are FHG/FHN rostered and which ones aren't throughout the program using a little graphic. This makes FHG patient identification a snap! Only Visual Practice offers FHG/FHN Smart-Tags.

Regarding Vendor Certification

Some vendors of CMS products are promoting their software as certified by the ePhysician Project to ensure that they support minimum clinical and practice management specifications.  This certification is important only in the context of Family Health Networks.  Unlike FHNs, Family Health Groups (FHGs) have no Information Technology component, nor a CMS IT requirement.  This means you have the choice of choosing inexpensive products such as Visual Practice to perform your Practice Management and Rostering needs, at a SUBSTANTIALLY reduced cost.  Additionally, Visual Practice can be used in conjunction with a certified Clinical Management System and meet the ePhysician Project certification requirements for Family Health Networks.  Visual Practice currently functions and exchanges data with a least TWO certified CMS systems.  Be sure to make an informed decision in this regard.  Blindly purchasing across-the-board certified products can cost you tens of thousands of unnecessary extra dollars!  It is also important to note the ePhysician certification provides few assurances or protections; quote from the Family Health Network website:

"Publication of the list of certified Local Solution products does not constitute an endorsement of any product by the ePhysician Project or its partners. The ePhysician Project, and its partners, do not guarantee, and are not responsible for, the suitability, performance and usability of the vendors' products or the financial viability of any vendor."

The Visual Practice website will shortly host a list of Visual Practice Certified CMS products which you can integrate into your Visual Practice network to perform CMS requirements.

Rostering criteria is being added to all reports throughout Visual Practice over the course of 2004, however, as of now, you can pull a specific roster listing for any or all physicians and for FHG or FHN patients.
