Optionally, the IntelliCard™ Wizard can validate cards on the spot using your modem and your Bell Datapac account, before a service is provided. If the need to validate is not immediate, invalidated health cards can be intelligently added to a list of cards for batch validation using the HCV service. The billing process also flags cards as valid when billed services are successfully reconciled. The date, time and method of validation are all recorded in the patient registry, so that you always know the status of a patient's health card number- and how old that validation is - before you book a patient's your next visit! These checks are performed throughout the entire program where card validity is critical to the business process. In larger clinic, departmental or institutional networks, the IntelliCard™ Wizard can communicate with an IntelliCard Server™ for validation services. An IntelliCard Server™ performs card validation on behalf of computers running Visual Practice™ on a network. The IntelliCard Server™ collects, organizes, contacts MOH, validates and returns validation results to each computer. In this way, only one phone line is used, only one modem is needed, and connection time is minimized while the number of validation requests is maximized. IntelliCard Server™ can use either native TCP/IP or your Bell Datapac account for access to the Ministry's Health Card Validation service.
